Since 2004, the People Service Centre has received funding from the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) for several years to implement building refurbishment projects in Sham Shui Po, Yau Tsim Mong and Kowloon City, and was well received by property owners in the districts. Since 2018, in the URA bidding system, we were not successful in the funding bidding exercise to implement building refurbishment support services. However, through the allocation of internal resources and the collaborative relationship established with the organizations and community members in the Sham Shui Po area over the years, the Centre managed to continue providing support for the establishment of old buildings and owners’ corporations in the Sham Shui Po district to carry out the building refurbishment over the years.
